Santos Preparing for Rodrygo Row

Described as a Neymar and Robinho hybrid, the highly talented Santos star Rodrygo is widely regarded as one of the most gifted footballer to emerge in Brazil in recent years.

The flamboyant 17-year-old has been causing quite the ripples in Europe with many a continent’s top club said to be keeping a close eye on him.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona are all in the race, but the Brazilian media outlet UOL Esporte claims that the Catalans are neck ahead the competition.

Rodrygo’s father and agent, Eric Batista de Goes, recently took his son to Barcelona to meet with the Camp Nou officials and get a tour of the club’s facilities. The Catalans even approached Santos and got a reply that the player will not be leaving his current club for anything less than the amount stated in his release clause – €50 million.

Such a hefty fee would see him leapfrog the amount Real Madrid forked out to grab Vinicius Junior last summer.

Rodrygo is under contract that runs until 2022.
