It’s been four years since Takefusa Kubo left Barcelona due to a transfer ban but the Japanese teenage sensation could well be on his way back to Camp Nou this summer.

Takefusa Kubo spent four years at Barcelona academy where he earned the nickname ‘Japanese Messi’ but his Barca dream was cut short when FIFA struck Catalans with a transfer ban for signing underage players from overseas.

Now that Kubo is edging closer to turning 18, the Spanish media report he is set to return to Camp Nou in the summer.

Mundo Deportivo claims Kubo will be slotted into the Barcelona reserve team in the Spanish second division for the 2019/20 season where he will be fighting for a chance with the big boys at Camp Nou.

In the meantime, FC Tokyo claim no talks have been held with Barcelona over Kubo.
