After Barcelona made various bids for Philippe Coutinho, it looks as if the deal might fall through with Barça losing interest in the midfielder.
According to Mundo Deportivo and RAC1, the deal is said to be “impossible” and it looks like the 25-year-old playmaker is going to remain a Red.
Right now Barça is odds on favourite to land Coutinho at 7/4, but it looks like those odds are to diminsh with Liverpool rejecting every bid made by Barcelona to try and lure him to the Camp Nou.
The Catalan club has been persistent with their bids, upping the ante each time with every Liverpool rejection as they have made £72 million, £90 million and £118 million offers for the Brazilian.
It seems as though Barcelona’s patience has worn thin in their effort to bring Coutinho to Spain and they are now exploring other options.
Various reports have Nice’s Seri as the next player to join Ernesto Valverde’s squad and there are the rumours that the Blaugrana are keen on bringing in PSG’s Angel Di Maria as well.
Should Barcelona land both Seri and Di Maria, it looks like Coutinho will be the odd man out and will be compelled to play on for Jürgen Klopp’s side once he recovers from his back injury.
