According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Schalke 04 is willing to part with star midfielder Leon Goretzka and are offering him to Barcelona.
This is seen as a move on Schalke’s part to cash in on the 22-year-old German international, asking for €30 million for him, and to not let him make a move to Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.
There are rumours that Goretzka has an agreement to sign with the Bavarian giants once his contract expires with Schalke at the end of this season.
Reports of the interest from Barcelona to sign the German midfielder are substantiated as club directors Robert Fernández and Urbano Ortega were spotted in Germany scouting Goretzka, as well as RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keïta.
There is also talk that Goretzka’s agent was recently in Spain trying to pitch his player to the brass of the Catalan club.
After his breakout performance at the 2017 Confederations Cup, Goretzka has caught the eye of other clubs that wish to sign him; among those are Bayern, Arsenal and Barcelona.
Since joining Die Königsblauen in 2013, the talented midfielder has participated tremendously for the Gelsenkirchen squad.
He has appeared in 116 matches and also netted 14 goals in his four-year tenure with Schalke.
